Allianz Partners and Orient Insurance Company International Healthcare Plans for Dubai
Orient Insurance Company and Allianz Partners have launched new International Healthcare Plans for the Dubai market.
The plans are underwritten and sold by Orient Insurance Company and designed by Allianz Partners. The DHA (Dubai Health Authority) compliant solutions offer worldwide cover and include a range of individual plans specifically designed to suit the needs of expat individuals and families moving to or living in Dubai. A range of group plans has also been launched, for start-ups, SMEs and larger organisations. The plans include an Expatriate Assistance Programme (EAP) as standard.
The individual plans are designed to cover day-to-day medical expenses as well as emergency treatment anywhere in the world. Inpatient and outpatient treatments are available on a cashless basis across the UAE and customers can access the best hospitals in Dubai. Treatment is available from a choice of facilities, and practitioners within the chosen network in the UAE. Cover for emergency treatment is also provided, anywhere in the world.
In addition to the usual international health insurance benefits, group customers also have access to Travel Security Services and an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) which are included as standard. Offering support in the event of terrorist attacks, natural disasters or political unrest as well as counselling and legal advice, these benefits provide additional support to expatriate employees who are often placed in an unfamiliar culture.
The plan is modular and the Core plan can be supplemented with new optional Wellness and Optical plans as well as a new lower level Dental plan. Orient says the flexible, modular nature of the plans means that groups, large and small, can choose from a range of enhanced benefits and options to create a tailor-made solution that meets their specific needs and budget.
Comment: These plans follow the growing model of an international iPMI specialist partnering with a local organisation to offer the best of local and international insurance and service.
For clients in Dubai, these plans offer a range of DHA compliant plans that should meet most needs.
Plus points: A combination of local and international insurer in partnership offering Dubai focused iPMI plans; Good range of solutions available; Plans are DHA compliant.
Not so plus points: Increasingly, iPMI plans are becoming territory specific (partly driven by local regulation) which can make life more complex for brokers who have clients in many territories.
