Generali offers a multi-platform web portal with a range of online tools, which enable customers to access information, make policy changes, make and track claims and obtain approval for hospital stays upfront.

Comment: Generali’s new iPMI plan offers a good range of cover options for employers, using the now common menu format.

One issue with such an approach is that it can make the plan and options look over-complex, but Generali has avoided this by its logical and understandable literature. However, some of the labels given to the various options look unnecessarily complex, with some as names and others as numbers. That’s a very minor criticism though.

As well as the financial benefits, Generali’s online tools enable plan management, claim action and monitoring onscreen and there is also a wide range of useful information available too.

Plus points: Menu-based group iPMI; Useful range of options; Good online tools both to manage the plan and to give information.

Not so plus points: Can be expensive if all options are chosen and the highest benefits; Some maxima are quite low; Confusing option names in some cases – a simpler alpha or numeric system might be easier to understand.
