April International Care has announced a number of improvements to its MyHEALTH Hong Kong private international health insurance (iPMI) policy range, and in particular to its Elite module. The changes took effect from the start of December 2020. The annual limit for the Elite module for in-hospital care has been increased from US $3.0 million to $4.5 million and a near doubling of check-up and vaccination cover has been added, giving a total benefit for this now of US $2,000, with no change to policy premiums. Aviva has updated its Solutions and Healthier Solutions products. Solutions is private medical insurance (PMI) for SMEs, while Healthier Solutions is designed for individual clients. From 1 March 2021 a number of enhancements, plus a number of other improvements, will be applied to these products, along with other changes, including the removal of emergency overseas benefit. AIG Life Critical Illness Insurance (Protection Review rating: Platinum, Adviser score 8.8)

AIG Life has updated its existing critical illness plans, with two developments in particular being worthy of note. First, it has grouped more than 20 conditions under just four broad headings. These focus on specific surgeries or on the impact on daily life for customers, not on the name of the illness. If the impact is the same, the customer will be covered - whatever the name of the condition. The headings are: Degenerative neurological disorder. Reduced heart function. HSBC has made a number of changes to its existing two product critical illness plans - Core Critical Illness and Critical Illness Plus.  The most changes are on the Critical Illness Plus version. The Core plan now has 38 named 100% or full conditions and includes two additional payment conditions - less advanced cancer of the breast or prostate.
