LV= has introduced updates to three of its 100% conditions and one additional payment condition for its critical illness plans. The main changes are: 100% Conditions · Benign Brain Tumour. Previously benign brain tumour claims were paid on diagnosis alone. Now LV= adopts the market norm and requires certain treatments - full or partial surgical removal, radiotherapy or chemotherapy. · Motor Neurone Disease. Six motor neurone conditions are now listed rather than just ‘motor neurone disease'. · Third Degree Burns. The requirement for facial or head burns has been cut from 50% of the area to 20%. Medigo is a German based company and has launched two global healthcare products for companies based in the UK. GLOBALCOVER (the focus of this review) is for major illness treatment and GLOBALCARE is for second medical opinions and medical concierge. GLOBALCOVER borrows from conventional critical illness insurance (CI) and private medical insurance (PMI) and pays for treatment for certain medical conditions only. June 2019 Legal & General: IP
L&G has updated its income protection (IP) plan. The changes include increased acceptance, more income guarantees and an extended support services, combined with more competitive pricing. The changes include: • Scrapping the generic exclusion of alcohol and drug abuse. • Increasing the maximum IP benefit limit by 20% from £200,000 a year (£16,667 a month) to £240,000 a year (£20,000 a month).
