Aviva has added Simple Life Insurance as a ‘no frills’ alternative to its Life Insurance+ policy. The term insurance plan is available to customers 18-59 at outset, and can run to age 70, and has a minimum term of one year. It is available with level or decreasing cover (using an interest rate between 4% and 15%, chosen at outset) making it ideal for covering most repayment mortgages. Premiums are guaranteed throughout the term and start at £3.50 a month. Terminal illness cover (where death is expected within 12 months) is automatically included. OneFamily Over 50s Life Cover

OneFamily has introduced a number of changes to its Over 50s plan, which now offers: •             A whole of life plan with guaranteed acceptance. •             Guaranteed premiums that cease at age 90. •             Funeral funding is built-in, with an opt-out option. On death the benefit is paid direct to Golden Charter, which adds a £300 contribution to the policy if one of its chosen providers is used. Scottish Widows Protect Personal Protection – critical illness cover

On its Protect menu protection plan, Scottish Widows has introduced a number of changes to the critical illness element. These include: •             Simplification. There are now 40 (down from 49) conditions covered. However this has been achieved by combining similar definitions. LV= has introduced a number of changes to its CI policies. In total, some 87 conditions are covered, although that is not the full story. There are now 49 rather than 44 full payment conditions, although some previous conditions have been combined.
