What was the first record/CD you can remember buying? My father is a country singer so my musical upbringing is a very confusing place, especially for a boy from Wimbledon. Whether as an act of protest or genuine connection with Mancunian indie, I vividly remember buying my first album; (What's the Story) Morning Glory by Oasis in HMV in the Bentall centre in Kingston.  Over the years I've found a musical middle ground and home in the music of Seth Lakeman, John Smith and Paul Kelly. What is your biggest pet hate about the world of financial services? I strongly disagree that…

What was the first record/CD you can remember buying? Rather embarrassingly the first single I owned (and I distinctly remember proudly writing my name on the sleeve) was ‘The land of make believe’ by Bucks Fizz! I was very young at the time then forgot about music for a number of years before spending my first ever pocket  money on ‘Appetite for Destruction’ by Guns N Roses (On Cassette Tape!) , much cooler and a classic album to this day. What is your biggest pet hate about the world of financial services? Certainly nothing I hate, the FS world does…

1.           What was the first record/CD you can remember buying? Band Aid – Do they know its Christmas? (obviously the re-release, the original would make me too old) 2.           What is your biggest pet hate about the world of financial services? It’s still very male dominated. Whilst things have got so much better over the last few years, I’m still regularly the only female on an industry event dinner table or at an industry social event. Having said that, I do think things are changing. Its great working at AIG where we have a very even male/female split which has…

1. What was the first record/CD you can remember buying? I grew up in a village where music was a strong tradition, and so a big part of my childhood. There were 9 choirs for a population of 6,000! I loved Mozart’s music (still do!), and bought some of his piano works early on.   2. What is your biggest pet hate about the world of financial services? I think the industry can be insular at times and get lost in the detail. There is a lot of good practice from other sectors and countries that we can draw on…

What was the first record/CD/download you can remember buying? ‘Protection’ by Massive Attack… if only!? It was actually a tape – ‘Wannabe’ by Spice Girls. An odd choice for a 12 year old boy, but I don’t regret a thing (honest). The first vinyl record I ever bought was Gala ‘Freed From Desire’, which even today is a certified banger. I wish I still had it in my collection. I would genuinely play it: to people. What is your biggest pet hate about the world of financial services? It would be great if we saw greater diversity across the industry…
