What is your biggest pet hate about the world of financial services? My biggest pet hate is the amount of time spent chasing medical reports from doctors surgeries. Hopefully a more streamlined process will be adopted amongst all insurers in the future. Another pet hate is declines, ideally insurer's offering cover with a higher rating/increased premium would be better received rather than an outright decline. What is your favourite film/book, and why? I enjoy reading and have lots of favourite books. One that I have read a number of times is Lord of the Flies . I enjoy the moral concept…

What was the first record/CD you can remember buying? Thin Lizzy….Live and Dangerous. Double LP when “ live “ albums were still a thing. Still amazing to this day. What is your biggest pet hate about the world of financial services? Lifetime achievement awards! Seriously though my biggest one would be over long meetings. I know that’s not just financial services, by the way. Zoom/Teams tech has not made long meetings go away. I realise I have low attention span and everyone else in the room is probably OK, though. What is your favourite film/book, and why? Saving Private Ryan.…

What was the first record/CD you can remember buying? I don’t think CD’s were invented when I first bought a record! My first record was Michael Jackson ‘Thriller’ album and embarrassingly I used it to practice the zombie dance moves. What is your biggest pet hate about the world of financial services? We like to make everything sound complicated, we have too many acronyms and we don’t talk about the value of what we do for the customer enough. What is your favourite film/book, and why? My favourite film is Gladiator, I have literally watched it so many times I…

What was the first record/CD you can remember buying? (and anything you want to say about the song/album) I really wish I could say it was something great like Zeppelin or Pink Floyd, but it was actually ‘Now That’s What I Call Music 31’ when I was about 11 or 12. Nonetheless, it had some great tunes on it by Pulp, Oasis and Supergrass, as well as the usual rubbish (PJ & Duncan, anyone?), but it was Weezer’s ‘Buddy Holly’ that I kept playing on repeat. That song really influenced my music taste quite a lot going forward into my…

What was the first record/CD you can remember buying? My father is a country singer so my musical upbringing is a very confusing place, especially for a boy from Wimbledon. Whether as an act of protest or genuine connection with Mancunian indie, I vividly remember buying my first album; (What's the Story) Morning Glory by Oasis in HMV in the Bentall centre in Kingston. Over the years I've found a musical middle ground and home in the music of Seth Lakeman, John Smith and Paul Kelly. What is your biggest pet hate about the world of financial services? I strongly disagree that…
