Digital embargo With holiday season over for most of us, post-holiday sentiment seemingly ranges from; “refreshed and raring to go” to “holiday? What holiday?” I generally sit in the former camp and I’m convinced this is because of my self-imposed digital detachment which sees me switch off email and set everything to voicemail whilst abroard. The summer holidays are now behind us, Christmas beckons as the next milestone. For many that means back to business as usual, budgets, targets and delivery. So many things to think about! The next few months may prove to be just about the most tumultuous in the history of retail financial services and protection insurance is certainly not immune from the turmoil. First the market faces direct changes. The spectacular opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics has stirred an interest from even the biggest couch potatoes among us as Brits start to embrace the games. I’d even go as far as saying many of us have become avid armchair spectators of events we’d never shown an inkling of interest in before.
