Announcing the Protection Review I Mark for Innovation

by Protection Review 07/01/19 Category: Latest News

We’re delighted to award the very first I Mark to: Vitality’s Dementia and FrailCare Cover. Click here to read our review. Congratulations Vitality. Now let's tell you what the I Mark is all about. Innovation is at the heart of how protection insurance can reach a wider audience. Past examples include not only new products such as critical illness insurance from the 1980s, but more recent developments such as straight through processing, teleunderwriting and the growth of third party services, as well as changes to the products themselves. At Protection Review our aim has always been to encourage better solutions for…

We need to talk about… critical Illness updates

by Protection Review 19/12/18 Comment

In this new regular series we look at hot topics and try and start a debate. And it might be a little provocative. In the first of a new series of short comment pieces from the Protection Review team, we ask how often should critical illness policies be updated? We’ve noticed some companies updating their critical illness policies two, maybe three times, a year. They add extra conditions, partial payments and definition improvements. What is your biggest pet hate about the world of financial services? No specific 'pet hate' as…

What was the first record/CD/download you can remember buying? Avril Lavigne ‘Let Go’. I must have been about 8 years old then. My music taste has changed somewhat since then. What is your biggest pet hate about the world of financial services? How it is perceived as being very grey and boring by people not in the industry. I love my job and how varied it is, every day I deal with new clients and interesting medical conditions. What is your favourite film, and why? It is so hard to choose just one but The Breakfast Club has always…
